Response to the latest Oversight Board for The Promise report

Responding to the latest Oversight Board for The Promise report, Mary Glasgow, Chief Executive of Children First, Scotland’s national children’s charity said:

“This latest report is a warning that time is rapidly running out to keep The Promise to children and families by 2030. Children First remains fully committed to supporting its delivery and ambition must now be matched by urgent action. 

"The next Scottish Budget is a critical opportunity to turn promises of prevention into action. Investment in whole family support and family group decision making is proven to keep children safe, strengthen families and reduce the need for intervention later.  

“If Scotland is serious about keeping The Promise, this support must be prioritised and funded at the scale children and families deserve."
