FAQs

Children First fundraising FAQs

Children First is Scotland’s national children’s charity. We stand up for every child because all children should have a safe childhood.

Your gift will help us to protect children from harm, keep them safe, and support them to recover from trauma and abuse through our national support line and in their homes, schools and communities.

We help children, their families and the people who care for them by offering, emotional, practical and financial support.

For some examples of how your generous gift could help us to support children and families across Scotland please see here.

Gift Aid is a government scheme that allows charities to boost their income through tax reclaim. By opting-in to Gift Aid, your personal donations will be worth 25% more to Children First at no extra cost to you.

To ensure that your donation is eligible for Gift Aid, you must be a current UK taxpayer and have paid enough Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax in each tax year to cover any Gift Aid that is claimed by Children First from your donations that year.

Make your Gift Aid declaration here!

For more information, please see About Gift Aid | Children First

Regular donors are a vital part of the Children First community, helping to ensure that we can continue to be there for all young people in Scotland. One way to become a regular donor is by setting up a monthly direct debit. Set up your direct debit here!

Payroll Giving is another easy and convenient way to make a regular donation to Children First. This is a tax-free donation taken from your salary at a frequency that suits you. Become a payroll giver or find out more information here!
