We campaign for change because we believe that every child should have a safe and happy childhood.
Today’s children and young people face unprecedented threats to their safety and wellbeing. This needs to stop. They need us to act.
With 140 years’ experience of protecting children from harm and supporting them to recover from abuse and trauma, we have the knowledge and expertise to offer solutions to the biggest challenges they face.
In 1889 we achieved our first legislative change for children, with the passing of the Children’s Charter. Today, our commitment to protect and fulfil all children’s rights in legislation, policy and practice is stronger than ever.
Our campaign priorities are based on what the children and young people we support tell us matters most. We make sure their voices are heard, as we work with partners, decision-makers and politicians, to champion the changes that will protect children from harm and ensure their rights are fulfilled.
Keeping children safe
Scotland’s children are Scotland’s future. That is why we believe it is everybody’s responsibility to protect them. Keeping children safe must be a priority for any new law, guidance or practice.
Impact of trauma
The impacts of abuse and trauma are wide-ranging and far-reaching. Our aim is to ensure that these impacts and the need for recovery services are recognised at a local and national level.
