Learning Review into death of Amber Gibson
Mary Glasgow, Chief Executive, Children 1st, Scotland's national children's charity said:
“Amber’s death was a terrible tragedy, which demonstrates where we need to take action to give every child in Scotland the best possible protection from harm. It shows how complex child sexual abuse is and reinforces why Children 1st have been campaigning for urgent investment in child abuse and trauma recovery services. We need a wholescale change in the systems that support child victims and witnesses through the development of Bairns Hoose.
“As a society we need to recognise that the strong commitment and best efforts of workers are not enough to protect children if we do not have the right systems, support and resources in place."
