Major gifts
We appreciate every donation, of all sizes, yet major gifts can have a significant impact on the lives of children across Scotland. Thanks to dedicated donors, thousands of children in Scotland suffering abuse or trauma are supported to lead safer lives, grow up in strong, resilient families and have access to early help when and where they need it.
You can choose for us to direct your support wherever it is most needed, or you can donate towards a project or region close to your heart. We have a range of projects across Scotland where your support will make a significant difference today:
Our philanthropy team work closely with major donors and philanthropists to reach, support and protect more children in Scotland recovering from abuse or trauma.
As a valued supporter, you will be assigned a dedicated contact within the team. You will have opportunities to meet with our teams and attend our events. You will also hear first hand from the children you are supporting through regular, tailored updates, showing you the impact your support is having.
£2,500
A donation of £2,500 could teach up to 300 schoolchildren to identify the risks of trauma, developing their confidence to speak up or seek help
£5,000
A donation of £5,000 could support 180 parents, carers or family members who contact our support line with concerns about issues affecting children
£10,000
A donation of £10,000 could support five children suffering abuse or trauma, helping them to recover and lead safe, happy and healthy lives
There are a number of ways you can choose to support vulnerable children in Scotland.

- Set up a regular gift: By giving monthly – or however frequently suits your preference – we can plan ahead and ensure more children can be supported when and where they need it most.
- Give via your Trust or Foundation: Many of our supporters choose to set up a major gift via their Trust or Foundation. If you would like to arrange this, please contact the team at: philanthropy@childrenfirst.org.uk or contact us via the form below.
Are you a higher rate tax payer?
If you pay tax above the basic rate, you can claim the difference between the rate you pay and basic rate on your donation.
For example, if you pay tax at a rate of 45%, a gift of £10,000 will only cost you £6,875. However, thanks to Gift Aid, this same donation is worth £12,500 – supporting even more children in Scotland to recover from trauma or abuse.
