Philanthropy

Giving that has a big impact

Today’s children are facing unprecedented challenges. Poverty, abuse, trauma, neglect and online harm are robbing many of their childhood years.

1 in 4 children across Scotland live in poverty. Every day, 100 children are being referred to mental health services. Across the country, one in 20 children are sexually abused. That’s the equivalent of at least one child in every classroom in your local community.

You can make a significant difference for Scotland’s children with a higher value gift

In 2024, we helped more than 8,600 children to have a brighter future. Children First’s support line gave expert, confidential advice to more than 5,100 people – that’s more than 1,750 families. The support line worked with more than 1,000 families to provide financial wellbeing support and advice that helped families secure close to £2.5 million in financial gains and manage more than half a million pounds in debts.

Together, we can stand up for all Scotland’s children to protect them from all forms of harm; violence, neglect, abuse, online exploitation and poverty as well as racism and discrimination.

Impact Report

By donating a major gift, you can help us to build a better future for children across Scotland.

Donate

If you prefer to set up a regular gift online, your regular donations will help us plan ahead and ensure more children can be supported when and where they need it most.

A major gift is an important decision. We would be delighted to have a conversation with you about the gift you would like to make and the impact it will have.

To start a conversation about your giving including through a Trust or Foundation contact our Supporter Care team at fundraising@childrenfirst.org.uk or 0345 10 80 111.

Your generosity will be supporting babies, children and young people across Scotland.

Are you a higher rate tax payer?

If you pay tax above the basic rate, you can claim the difference between the rate you pay and basic rate on your donation.

£2,500

A donation of £2,500 could teach up to 300 schoolchildren to identify the risks of trauma, developing their confidence to speak up or seek help

£5,000

A donation of £5,000 could support 180 parents, carers or family members who contact our support line with concerns about issues affecting children

£10,000

A donation of £10,000 could support five children suffering abuse or trauma, helping them to recover and lead safe, happy and healthy lives
